Media's Retail Ordinance

by Susan Serbin

MEDIA - It may be another two months before council makes a determination on any changes to a recently enacted law requiring retail only on the ground floor in the business district.
Councilman Paul Robinson said he would like to use the month of April for members of the Media Business Authority and planning commission to look at recommendations by planner Tom Comitta.
Following a workshop held in February, Comitta prepared recommendations with several options for the controversial ordinance. Robinson said some of Comitta's alternatives and re-definitions would also have to be reviewed by legal counsel. Once studied by borough officials, a public hearing will be scheduled and action may come as soon as May.
