Mission Statement

To promote a strong local economy
To serve as an Independent voice of the Business community
To encourage sound business policy
To inform members of all issues affecting business

We are an Independent Voice of the Business Community, formed to work in conjunction with local government

The Structure of our Organization

1. The Media Business & Professional Association functions as a Unicameral body served by an elected Board of Directors.

2. Any member of the association may bring a matter to the board for suggested action.

3. The Board of Directors will meet to discuss the possibilities of action on that subject and issue their proposed action to the entire membership by Fax, Email and Mail.

4. Every member has an equal vote. Members can vote "FOR" or "AGAINST" any proposal or suggest modifications to the proposed action.

5. A 2/3 vote is required for action on any proposal.

6. Membership will hold monthly meetings. Attendance is NOT required and all members will be entitled to vote on all matters. Emergency meetings may be called by the Board of Directors at any time.

7. Membership can elect members to the Board of Directors at any meeting. Each Board member will stand for re-election after 24 months. Board members who reisign will be repalaced at the next general meeting.

8. The Association will collect nominal dues to pay for mailings and general operations. Specific proposed projects will be sent as a ballot issue to all members to approve budget and financing.

9. Every member is required to bring in at least one new member. All new members must be sponsored by at least two member businesses and approved by 2/3 vote of the general membership.

10. Each member is required to perform at least one function for the common good.

11. No action will be taken that could prove detrimental to any segment of commerce in town: Mercantile, Commercial, Professional, Industrial, Governmental.

12. The membership will interview all candidates for borough office an vote to endorse and support those who support good business practices. All endorsements will be on a nonpartisian basis.
